F. von Brosy-Steinberg, Stahlwarenfabrik was founded in 1872 and officially registered in Solingen on July 2, 1889. In 1895, the firm registered its trademark featuring a crossed key and anchor. An advertisement published in 1922 in Solingen und sein Industriebezirk marked the company’s 50th anniversary. At that time, the firm’s product range included cutlery, pocket knives, scissors, razor blades, razors, as well as manicure instruments. During the Third Reich period, the company produced early SA daggers. According to collector research by Fisher, the estimated production quantity was approximately 1,000 pieces. Business records from 1939 list Hans von Brosy-Steinberg and H. Schopp as the company’s owners. At that time, the factory was located at Wuppertalerstrasse 251, Solingen-Grafrath.
