Description
Hermann Konejung Stahlwarenfabrik was founded in 1873 and officially registered in Solingen on January 17, 1887. The 1892 Solingen City Directory lists Konejung as a manufacturer of “all kinds of fine steel ware.” The company’s specialties included butcher knives, bread knives, table knives and forks, straight razors, pocket knives, scissors, and related edged tools. During World War I, the firm produced close-combat knives for military use. By the early 1920s, Konejung’s product range had expanded significantly and included pocket knives, scissors, razors, cutlery, professional and kitchen knives, fruit knives, as well as luxury tableware. In 1932, the original factory was located at Kronenberger Straße 60, Solingen. During the Third Reich period, Hermann Konejung primarily manufactured SA and NSKK daggers, as well as HJ knives. Commercial activity is believed to have ceased around 2005.
