Description
Herbertz & Meurer Stahlwarenfabrik was founded in 1912 by Peter Herbertz and Otto Meurer. The firm entered the Solingen commercial register in 1914. An advertisement published in 1922 lists a broad product range, including tableware and various types of knives. In 1935, the company was located at Schulstraße 17, Solingen, and in the same year received its RZM license M7/52. By 1936, the business was owned by Richard Meurer. During the Third Reich period, Herbertz & Meurer manufactured HJ knives as well as SA and NSKK daggers. On July 19, 1951, the firm registered the “Pfiffikus” trademark. Today, the company is owned by Jürgen Meurer and operates from In der Freiheit 13, Solingen. It remains an active manufacturer, offering a wide range of knives for bakers, butchers, fishing, gastronomy, household use, as well as custom knife production.
